Dear Anime Fans and Supporters of AGA --

I would like to let you all know that as of right now (10/20/06) Anime Explosion is without a home. As many of you know we have been hosting "anime on the big screen" since February of 2001 out at the Cineplex at Universal Studios. When we started we were working with Loews Cinemas. Since they were bought out by AMC Theaters earlier this year we have been waiting to renegotiate our arrangement. AMC opted to just cancel our event completely with basically no notice.

We have been trying to make other arrangements so we can continue Anime Explosion on a monthly basis; however it is difficult to get any commitments from other theaters going into their very lucrative holiday season. Plus, November and December is usually pretty low attendance for Anime Explosion, and we need to have a very strong turnout for our first event in a new location. Therefore, we have decided to put Anime Explosion on hiatus until January.

We will continue to search for the perfect venue to host our event. We will keep you posted on where and when our next Anime Explosion will take place.

On a happier note --

AGA is hosting Anime Festival Orlando 8 on August 3, 4 and 5, 2007.

We will again return to the Wyndham Orlando Resort, but this year we have ALL the Conference Center space.

We have also negotiated a less expensive rate for the standard sleeping rooms. The standard room sleeps up to 4 people and will only cost $89.00 per night, that's $10 less per night.

We are also doing some cool special events and privileges which will be exclusive to our Wyndham registered guests who check-in on Thursday Aug 2.

Details will be coming soon as we begin to update the AFO website with AFO8 details.
